Your Mac. Your data.
Privacy information for Crank My Hog 1.6.1 preview. Updated 7 October 2026.
The Mac app
Crank My Hog reads system and process information to show CPU, memory, network, disk and supported hardware readings. It stores resource history and preferences locally on your Mac. The preview does not include an account, cloud sync, advertising or analytics service.
Process names and paths can appear in local history and exports. They leave the app only when you choose to export or share them. Cleanup receipts record the local paths of files you choose to move to Trash.
Optional permissions
Features such as notifications and per-app audio require the relevant macOS permissions. Audio access is used only when you enable per-app volume control. Audio is not recorded or uploaded by Crank My Hog.
This website
This site uses self-hosted fonts and images, with no tracking scripts or advertising cookies. Vercel hosts the site and processes standard request information to deliver pages and downloads, operate the service and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare provides DNS and contact-message delivery. When you submit the contact form, your email address and message are sent to our inbox through Cloudflare Email Service so we can respond. Do not include passwords or sensitive personal information. The form does not add you to a mailing list. We retain correspondence only as needed to respond and handle follow-up; you can request deletion by emailing hello@crankmyhog.com. The endpoint uses short-lived rate-limit counters to reduce abuse, and does not store message content in a website database.
Local storage and removal
The app retains its original internal Pulse identity so existing users keep their history and preferences. Data is stored in your user Library’s Application Support/Pulse folder, and preferences use the com.darc.pulse domain. Settings includes an option to show the data folder. Removing the app does not automatically erase this local history.
